The police in Botoșani discovered a body buried in the yard of a house belonging to a man who went missing in April. His partner has been arrested for qualified murder.

The Botoșani Police Inspectorate announced that a woman from Botoșani County has been detained and is being investigated for murder, being accused of having killed her partner in April and then burying his body in the yard of their home.

On June 21, police in Botoșani were notified about the disappearance of a 48-year-old man from the Vârfu Câmpului commune, who had not contacted his family since April. After weeks of fruitless searches, on August 3, authorities discovered a body buried in the yard of the man's home.

The identity of the victim was established, and investigators suspect that the man was killed by his partner, aged 50, following a spontaneous conflict.

The woman allegedly struck him with a blunt object in the chest area, causing his death. Subsequently, she buried the body to conceal her crime.

The woman has been detained for 24 hours, and investigations continue under the supervision of the prosecutor, being investigated for domestic violence in the form of qualified murder.
