The airline Wizz Air has announced the suspension of flights on the Sibiu - Vienna route starting from October 24, 2025, as part of the gradual closure of its base in Vienna. This decision was made following a strategic assessment due to rising airport costs. Passengers from Sibiu will still have the option to fly to Vienna with Austrian Airlines, according to the director of Sibiu International Airport.
