Wizz Air has announced that, starting in December 2026, it will allocate an Airbus A321neo to Brașov-Ghimbav International Airport, making Brașov the 10th operational base in Romania.
The company will launch four new routes to Chișinău, Barcelona, Madrid, and Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden, expanding the network from Brașov to 15 destinations in seven countries. Wizz Air's operations in Brașov began in August 2023, and so far it has transported over 800,000 passengers. András Radó, Head of Communications at Wizz Air, emphasized the company's commitment to the region and the importance of Romania as a strategic market, mentioning that Wizz Air recently celebrated 20 years of operations in the country. The company operates 231 routes from 14 airports in Romania and has over 1,900 employees in the country.
