Searches in Bucharest, after the actor Victor Rebengiuc was threatened with death in 2024. The police already have two suspects.

Police and prosecutors conducted searches on Thursday in Bucharest at two individuals suspected of threatening actor Victor Rebengiuc. The threats came after the actor announced that he would participate in a demonstration in December 2024 to support Romania's pro-European path.

Victor Rebengiuc received a message on Facebook accusing him of "seeing communists everywhere" and threatening him with extreme violence, including with an axe. The General Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the searches were carried out under the coordination of the case prosecutor, and the suspects were identified and evidence was collected.

The 91-year-old actor spoke about these threats during the pro-European demonstration in December 2024, in University Square.
