Victor Ponta launched a harsh criticism against USR and the Minister of the Environment, accusing them of mismanaging the water crisis in Prahova. The former prime minister claims that the appointment of the interim leadership of Apelor Române and the start of works at the Paltinu Dam were hasty decisions made without consulting specialists, which contributed to the current situation.

At the same time, Ponta accuses President Nicușor Dan of "only telling half the truth" to protect the Minister of the Environment, stating that if he had been from PSD, he would have already been dismissed. In a Facebook post, Ponta also denounces the "USR propaganda," which he accuses of trying to shift the blame to other parties and local authorities.
