Victor Ponta launched a harsh criticism of the government on Facebook, accusing it of poor financial decisions, especially regarding spending on armament. He emphasized that Romania is massively borrowing for the purchase of military equipment, such as helicopters from France and armored vehicles from Germany, while internal issues like health and education remain unresolved. Ponta highlighted that the sum of 850 million euros spent on helicopters would have been enough to build three regional hospitals, which have been postponed for years.

He also criticized the government for using public money in favor of foreign purchases, ignoring the capacity of the local industry. Ponta mentioned the paradox that, although Romania has a helicopter factory, the equipment is produced in France, thus paying foreign workers. In conclusion, Ponta warned that these financial policies endanger public finances and do not respond to the real needs of citizens, calling for prioritization of investments in hospitals, schools, and support for Romanian companies.
