On Wednesday, the rural police of Voinești signaled a stop for a van on DN 72 A, outside the locality of Lunca. The driver, a 50-year-old man from the commune of Voinești, ignored the signal and continued driving, which led to a police chase. During the pursuit, the van collided with the police vehicle, driven by a 25-year-old officer, but no one was injured.

The breathalyzer test showed a concentration of 1.00 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air for the van driver. He was taken to a medical unit for further tests, and the police opened a criminal case for driving a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
