The bill initiated by USR parliamentarians aims to establish a maximum price of 3 lei for bottled water of 500 ml in places such as airports, train stations, and gas stations, where consumers have no reasonable alternatives. The price includes all taxes and can be updated annually based on inflation. The sale of water at this price cannot be conditioned on the purchase of other products, and non-compliance with the law may result in fines of up to 25,000 lei. The project has been submitted to the Senate and requires approval from both chambers to come into effect.
