Ștefan Pălărie, the leader of the USR senators, declared that the party has a clear mandate to reduce public spending by 10%. The project, started in August, is nearly completed and is set to have emergency ordinances adopted to allow the implementation of these cuts.

Pălărie emphasized the importance of these measures to avoid the bankruptcy of local authorities and to ensure a functional state budget. He mentioned that all ministers should have introduced budget drafts into the Ministry of Finance system, a task already accomplished by the USR ministers. Additionally, Pălărie commented on the PSD social solidarity package, stating that there are projects with European funds that cover these needs, highlighting the necessity to improve existing programs.
