The Neamț Emergency Situations Inspectorate issued, at the end of last week, seven RO-ALERT messages to inform the population about the appearance of bears in inhabited areas, including in the localities of Grințieș, Bicaz Chei, Poiana Teiului, Borca, and Piatra-Neamț. In Bicaz Chei, three messages were sent in less than 24 hours, which led the local intervention commission to decide to shoot the bear, an action carried out on Sunday. A similar situation occurred in the municipality of Piatra-Neamț, where, in mid-May, the authorities decided to shoot a bear that was constantly returning to the Ștrand - Bâtca Doamnei area, despite repeated attempts to scare it away. These measures highlight concerns regarding the safety of communities in the face of wild animals.
