Six people attacked two young men in front of a store, after the victims allegedly insulted a girl from the group. Four attackers have been placed in preventive detention.

On the night of April 5, 2026, around 9:30 PM, a group of young people aged between 16 and 35 physically assaulted two men on the sidewalk in front of a store in Arad. The incident was triggered by a verbal dispute, in which the victims allegedly directed insulting words at a girl from the group of attackers.

The victims, a 34-year-old man and another aged 33, suffered serious injuries and were hospitalized: the first was diagnosed with acute maxillofacial trauma, requiring 40-45 days of medical care, while the second was diagnosed with acute cranio-cerebral trauma, needing 14-16 days of hospitalization.

Four of the attackers, all adults, were placed in preventive detention by the Arad Court, while two minors are being investigated under judicial control for 60 days. The Prosecutor's Office confirmed the details of the incident, emphasizing the severity of the violence exercised.
