Border police at Henri Coandă International Airport are investigating two bribery cases involving Vietnamese citizens. The first incident occurred on May 12, 2026, when a Vietnamese citizen arriving from Istanbul was caught with 5,000 contraband cigarettes hidden in his luggage.

In an attempt to avoid penalties, he offered 400 lei to the border police officer and the customs agent, but the money was refused. A second case was recorded on April 28, 2026, when another Vietnamese citizen arriving from Doha attempted to offer 200 lei during the customs control. In both situations, the facts were reported to the Prosecutor's Office next to the Ilfov Tribunal for further investigation regarding the crime of bribery.
