Two Ukrainians, aged 23 and 24, have been sent to trial by DIICOT for attempted acts of diversion and complicity in the same acts. They were accused of creating a real risk of destruction by placing incendiary packages at the headquarters of an international courier company, Nova Post, located in a residential building in the central area of Bucharest.

The incident occurred on October 14, 2025, when the defendants entered Romania with the aim of placing handmade incendiary devices. DIICOT emphasized that, in the event that the plan had been successfully carried out, the act would have generated a sense of insecurity in society and would have endangered the lives of many people.

The incendiary devices were tested and it was confirmed that they could have caused a significant fire. The spokesperson for SRI stated that this case is part of a sabotage campaign by the Russian Federation in Europe, aimed at destabilizing public order and influencing society.
