In Deva, the authorities opened an investigation after two men were found dead in their apartments. The discovery took place on Monday afternoon, when the relatives of a 63-year-old man alerted the authorities, concerned that he was no longer answering his phone. At the scene, the intervention teams found the deceased man.
During the investigations, the investigators discovered a second body, that of the building manager, a 38-year-old man, in the apartment on the upper floor. No signs of violence were found on the bodies of the two, and one hypothesis considered is carbon monoxide poisoning, given that the building's heating is gas-based, although it was turned off upon the firefighters' arrival. A criminal case for manslaughter has been opened, and the authorities are awaiting the results of the autopsy to clarify the circumstances of the deaths.
