The National Anti-Corruption Directorate (DNA) has sent to trial two former directors of Electrocentrale București S.A. (ELCEN), Crețu-Sârbu Claudiu-Ionuț and Zamfiroi Cristian-Andrei-Cornel, accused of bribery. Crețu-Sârbu, general director at the time of the events, is accused of bribery, while Zamfiroi, commercial director, is accused of bribery and complicity. In the same case, two individuals without public office, S.V. and B.C., were also tried for bribery.
According to the indictment, on July 1, 2025, Crețu-Sârbu allegedly received 40,000 lei through Zamfiroi, money offered to expedite payments to ELCEN. Additionally, on July 30, 2025, Zamfiroi allegedly requested 50,000 lei from the defendant B.C. in connection with his job responsibilities. Prosecutors have applied precautionary measures to recover the amount of 40,000 lei, transferred to an ANABI account. The case has been sent to the Bucharest Tribunal, and DNA emphasizes that the referral to trial does not affect the presumption of innocence.
