A 45-year-old Turkish citizen was proposed on Thursday, April 30, for preventive arrest by DIICOT prosecutors, being accused of having introduced into the country, a year ago, 200 kilograms of heroin from Iran. The drugs were brought in January 2025 in a container at the Port of Constanța Nord, officially declared as 'turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon'. The defendant attempted to transfer the drugs to Amsterdam but encountered difficulties due to improper documents. Additionally, he sold the company under whose name he made the import to evade responsibility. The Turkish citizen is currently in Germany, where he was apprehended after police discovered three packages containing over 3 kilograms of heroin in his car. He is accused of importing and trafficking narcotics at the Regional Court in Passau.
