At Henri Coandă Otopeni Airport, border police intercepted a Turkish citizen on February 9, 2026, while he was attempting to leave for Athens, Greece, using a fake passport inscribed with the signs of the Bulgarian authorities. Upon checking the documents, it was found that the passport did not meet the authenticity conditions, being considered completely false.

Additionally, the man did not have documents to justify a legal stay in the Schengen area. The police interrupted his journey and initiated investigations for identity fraud and complicity in material forgery in writings. Legal measures will be established upon completion of the investigations.
