Border police officers caught four Turkish citizens who illegally crossed the border from Serbia into Romania

Four Turkish nationals were caught on Tuesday, November 3, 2026, approximately 200 meters from the border between Serbia and Romania after crossing the border illegally. The incident occurred in the area under the jurisdiction of the Cruceni Border Police Sector.

Border police officers spotted them at around 2:00 a.m. using nighttime surveillance equipment. The four individuals were moving near the border, and the crews intervened immediately.

The men were found on Romanian territory and taken to the headquarters of the Cruceni Border Police Sector for verification. Following preliminary checks, the authorities established that they were Turkish nationals and had entered Romania illegally from Serbia.

Border police officers opened a criminal case for the fraudulent crossing of the state border. Investigations are ongoing to establish all the circumstances surrounding the illegal crossing and to order the appropriate legal measures.
