Transylvanian Hungarians with dual citizenship can vote in the elections in Hungary. Writer Miklóssi Szabo István: "The vote is symbolic, but I do not want obligations towards the Hungarian government."

Hungarians in Transylvania who have dual citizenship will be able to vote in the elections in Hungary on April 12, an important vote for the future of the Government in Budapest. Although Romania hosts the largest community of Hungarians outside Hungary, not everyone has opted to obtain the right to vote.

Miklóssi Szabo István, a writer from Transylvania, stated that he appreciates the possibility of voting, but does not wish to have obligations towards the Hungarian government. He considers the vote to be symbolic and emphasizes that many Hungarians in Romania should not vote where they do not live: "I do not believe it is a very important vote, it is a symbolic vote, rather, which I agree with, even though I do not have dual citizenship. But still, I believe it is a symbolic vote. There are many opinions here that we should not vote where we do not live, that is, Hungarians in Romania, because we do not pay taxes there."

Szabo criticized the aggressive propaganda of the Fidesz party and expressed a desire to see a reduction in tensions among Hungarians. He also discussed the investments of the Orban government in Transylvania, acknowledging that, although they are beneficial, there is a misconception that all investments come from Hungary's money. In the end, Szabo explained why he chose not to obtain a Hungarian passport, citing distrust in Orban's politics and concerns about the obligations that come with dual citizenship.
