The Romanian Member of the European Parliament Nicu Ștefănuță, Vice-President of the European Parliament, requested a meeting with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Magyar Peter, and the Minister of Culture, Tarr Zoltan, in Budapest, to discuss the situation of cultural, educational, and community projects of Hungarians in Transylvania. He pointed out the delays and uncertainties in the funding of these organizations, which have led to the postponement or suspension of some events.

Ștefănuță emphasizes the importance of these projects for the development of communities, stating that they contribute to preserving traditions and uniting communities. He proposes ensuring transparent and accessible funding mechanisms and requests the support of Romanian authorities for the continuation of these initiatives. The MEP states that political change in Hungary must bring more support for Hungarian communities abroad. Hungarian culture is considered an essential part of Transylvania's heritage and must be protected to ensure its future.
