A fire in the commune of Sânmartin, Cluj, led to the death of a charred man and the serious injury of another, who was transported to the hospital.

On Sunday, December 7, 2025, a devastating fire occurred in the village of Diviciorii Mici, Sânmartin commune, Cluj County, resulting in two victims. The firefighters were alerted around 4:55 PM and, upon arrival, found a charred man inside the house, while another man, approximately 50 years old, suffered severe burns and was urgently transported to the hospital.

The fire broke out in the kitchen and quickly spread over an area of approximately 80 square meters. According to IPJ Cluj, the fire was caused by a 38-year-old man who, in an attempt to light a fire in a stove, handled a canister with a flammable substance, which led to the tragedy. The firefighters managed to extinguish the flames, but unfortunately, the man died as a result of the incident.
