A 55-year-old man from Târgu Mureș died on Sunday, August 16, after falling approximately 200 meters into a ravine in the Făgăraș Mountains. The Argeș County Mountain Rescue Service intervened to recover the victim, mobilizing available personnel and a SMURD helicopter. At the scene, the medical team confirmed the death. The intervention took place under difficult conditions, and the lifeless body was transported to Victoria to be taken over by the IML.
The Argeș Police have opened a criminal case for manslaughter, and an autopsy will determine the cause of death. During the same period, Argeș Mountain Rescue received false calls for the search of missing persons, including a 29-year-old woman who was found safe after sleeping in her car. Additionally, a call for a fallen paraglider turned out to be false.
