The Mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Băluță, announced the resumption of traffic in Union Square starting next week, after the completion of the first stage of the restoration of the pavement in front of Manuc's Inn. The works have progressed by over 60% and are being carried out with a concrete slab 1.4 meters thick, designed to last at least 100 years. Currently, technical tests are being conducted with heavy vehicles, coordinated by specialists from the Bucharest Technical University of Construction.
Băluță mentioned that this summer, work will begin on the fourth area of the pavement, and the entire project is expected to be completed by the end of the year. The works are organized into four distinct areas, and traffic restrictions will continue until the project is completed, which started in June 2025 and will take place over a period of three years.
