Three people have been placed under judicial control for 60 days, and the activity of the dog shelter in Vrancea has been suspended, following the discovery of the mistreatment and killing of several animals. The searches took place on February 13, as a result of reports regarding improper treatment of dogs.

Police seized documents and evidence from four individuals and two work points of a commercial company. The investigation targets crimes such as intentional killing of animals and abuse of office. Authorities have emphasized that animals can only be relocated under safe conditions, and the shelter will continue adoption activities in accordance with the law. The situation has generated strong reactions from animal protection organizations and the local community.
