Three members of the same family, two women aged 47 and 45 and a 17-year-old teenager, have been arrested for international and domestic trafficking of high-risk drugs.
The Romanian Police announced that, in May 2026, the two women procured over 9.5 kilograms of drugs (3-CMC and 4-CMC) from Germany with the intention of selling them. The 47-year-old woman and the 17-year-old introduced the banned substances into Romania through a courier company, ensuring the transport reached its destination. On May 5, another 15-year-old teenager from the same family was caught in the act in Brăila, seizing the two suitcases with drugs. The women are also accused of selling 'crystal' between June 2025 and May 2026, part of the quantities sold being confiscated during the investigation. After searches, DIICOT prosecutors ordered the detention of the three, and the Brăila Tribunal was notified with a proposal for preventive arrest for 30 days. The action was supported by the local police and gendarmerie.
