Colonel Marian Mitrică, head of the Neurosurgery Department, and two other doctors have been placed under judicial control for 60 days on charges of receiving bribes for medical consultations and surgery. Prosecutors allege that Mitrică recommended unjustified sick leave for retirement based on illness. The amounts received by doctors ranged from 100 to 1,300 lei. The investigation continues, including searches at the Central Military Hospital.
