The World Bank has lowered its GDP growth forecast for Romania for 2025 to 0.4%, down from the previously estimated 1.3%. Consumption will slow to 1.1%, and the fiscal deficit will fall below 6% of GDP by 2026. The report emphasizes the need for economic reforms and investments in education and infrastructure to improve productivity and create quality jobs. Demographic challenges also threaten the labor market, with a forecasted decline in the working population in Central and Eastern Europe.
