The water crisis in Prahova is intensifying, and the director of Apele Române, Sorin Rădășanu, announced that after the holidays, water supply could be restricted to 4-6 hours a day due to the low water level at the Paltinu Dam. Currently, people are receiving tap water, but it is not known if it is potable. Rădășanu emphasized that the months of January and February will be critical, with the risk of interruptions similar to those in the '90s, due to the frost and limited resources.
The President of the Prahova County Council, Virgil Nanu, stated that the authorities are working to prevent a negative scenario, considering the available water reserve. Another problem is that citizens will pay bills for household water, even though drinking water will only be available at the end of the week. The director of Hidroprahova announced a 30% reduction for water bills, and Nanu emphasized that it is not fair for the population to pay for the discomfort caused by the water crisis.
