President Nicușor Dan stated that, this year, the waiting times at the borders between Romania and the Republic of Moldova have been halved compared to the beginning of 2025. This improvement is due to the increase in the number of customs employees and the implementation of joint controls.

However, Dan emphasized that the issue of freight transport remains unresolved, as delays at customs can increase costs for exports from the Republic of Moldova. He proposed the use of scanners to automate checks, highlighting the need for a public procurement for their implementation.
