Trucks attempting to leave Romania through the Galați border crossing are facing longer waits due to the high number of shipments and the limited processing capacity on the Ukrainian side. The Border Police report that checks are being conducted without interruption, but traffic is particularly congested in the direction of exit from the country.
Authorities recommend that drivers check the real-time situation on the Trafic Online app and consider alternative routes. For the Republic of Moldova, the Albița, Oancea and Sculeni border crossings are available, while for Ukraine, drivers can use Siret and Vicovu de Sus.
The delays are being compounded by security measures adopted by Ukraine. At the Reni crossing, trucks are allowed to enter in groups of no more than five vehicles so they can be dispersed quickly in the event of an attack. During air alerts, customs and border checks are suspended.
Approximately 20 trucks that have completed the formalities for leaving Romania are waiting between the Galați and Giurgiulești crossings. Traffic was also increased after carriers were redirected following attacks on the Ukrainian crossing at Orlivka. Romanian authorities remain in contact with those in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine to adjust operational measures。جا
