The Mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Băluță, announced that the expanded area of 'Tudor Arghezi' Park will be named 'Donald Trump', and the Berceni Arena ice rink will bear the name 'Doru Tureanu', following an online public consultation. Over 116,000 citizens voted for the names of these locations, and the result was confirmed by the mayor. Băluță thanked the participants and emphasized that the chosen name for the park reflects Romanian-American relations, marking 250 years since the Declaration of Independence of the USA. Although Maia Sandu was a popular initial option, 'Donald Trump' ultimately won. Public comments were mixed, with some praising the choice of Doru Tureanu, while others criticized the naming of the park after a foreign leader. The mayor promised to initiate the necessary procedures for implementing these names.
