The 49-year-old truck driver involved in an accident in Constanta has been discharged from the County Emergency Hospital.
He stated that he felt unwell while driving, having very low blood sugar, and that he had not consumed alcohol or drugs.
Following the accident, which involved eight cars and a bus, he was physically assaulted by local police, who used tear gas and force to subdue him.
The Local Police have opened an internal investigation, stating that the intervention was necessary because the driver was attempting to leave the scene of the accident. After the incident, a criminal case was opened for bodily harm through negligence.
