According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI), the data collected for vehicles registered in each administrative-territorial unit will be transmitted to the prefectures in the country on December 19, 2025. Representatives of the municipalities will be able to access this information starting December 20, 2025, while respecting security protocols and personal data protection. This action is regulated by Law 239 of 2025, published in the Official Gazette on December 15, which will come into force three days after publication.

The law also provides for an increase in vehicle taxes starting January 1, 2026, affecting even owners of electric vehicles, who were previously exempt from payment. Additionally, the tax will take into account the vehicle's pollution standard.
