Salvamont Argeș has announced that all tourist trails in Argeș County leading to the peaks of the Făgăraș, Piatra Craiului, Leaota, and Iezer-Păpușa mountains are closed. This decision was made due to the high risk of avalanches at altitudes above 1,800 meters, where the snow layer measures 100 centimeters. The consistent snowfall in the coming days will increase the snow layer, and strong winds have created unstable snow slabs. At altitudes below 1,800 meters, the avalanche risk is moderate, but recent snowfall can cause snow flows. Tourists are advised to avoid these trails and, in case of difficulties, to contact the National Salvamont Dispatch.
