New details have emerged following the investigation into the devastating explosion in Rahova. According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, everything began on October 16, at 08:22, when a resident called 112 to report a strong smell of gas. At 08:29, an ISUBIF crew arrived at the scene, confirmed the leak, stopped the gas supply, and requested the intervention of Distrigaz teams.
The valve was closed and sealed, but on the morning of October 17, the seal had been broken following an unauthorized intervention, according to the company. At 09:08, the explosion shook the building in Rahova, causing the death of three people, including a pregnant young woman, and injuring another 20. The deflagration severely affected the building, as well as nearby structures, including the "Dimitrie Bolintineanu" High School, where hundreds of students were present.
