Bros Andrew and Tristan Tate have escaped the restrictions imposed by the Bucharest Tribunal, which decided to lift the judicial control after almost four years of investigation. The court accepted the complaint of the two brothers' lawyers, finding that the measure is no longer justified.
The Tate brothers were sent to trial in 2023 by DIICOT, being accused of forming an organized criminal group, human trafficking, and rape. The court's decision comes after major irregularities were previously identified in the investigation and issues related to the drafting of the indictment.
The lawyer of the Tate brothers, Eugen Vidineac, emphasized that the ruling confirms the procedural flaws in the case, considering that freedom cannot be restricted without basis. Although they have escaped the restrictions in this case, the Tate brothers are involved in other criminal investigations in Romania and abroad, all accusations being denied by them.
