The Local Committee for Emergency Situations (CLSU) Praid has decided to extend the state of alert in the territory of the commune for another 30 days, starting from December 10, due to the floods caused by the Corund River. This measure will be in effect until January 8, 2026.
The authorities have mobilized resources to ensure the safety of the mining perimeter and have prohibited public access to the affected area and the Salt Canyon. Additionally, assistance is being provided to households downstream, if necessary. The situation is being monitored by the Mureș Water Basin Administration, SALROM - Praid Salt Mine, CLSU Praid, and the 'Oltul' Emergency Situations Inspectorate from Harghita. The state of alert was initially established on May 8, due to infiltrations that occurred underground.
