The separatist leader in Tiraspol, Vadim Krasnoselski, has extended the terrorist threat alert in the Transnistrian region by another 60 days. The decree was signed on Wednesday and provides for the measure to remain in effect until December 29, 2026, inclusive, throughout the region.
According to the document, the decision was made amid the continued existence of an alleged threat of terrorist acts being committed and the need to continue measures to prevent them. The alert regime entered into force immediately after the decree was signed.
The previous extension had been ordered until October 30, 2026. The new decree extends the deadline until the end of December, without changing the alert level.
The terrorist alert was instituted in the Transnistrian region in April 2022, following a series of explosions and security incidents reported by the separatist administration. Subsequently, the alert level was reduced from red code to yellow code, but the measure was repeatedly extended.
