The Sector 1 City Hall issued over 700 fines for unkempt land in 2026, a significant increase compared to previous years.

The Sector 1 City Hall, under the leadership of Mayor George Tuță, has intensified control actions regarding land maintenance, resulting in the application of over 700 fines by the end of July 2026, totaling approximately 764,000 lei.

Compared to 2024, when only 87 sanctions were applied, this number increased to 578 in 2025, and in the first seven months of 2026, it has already reached 720 sanctions. The mayor emphasized that fines should not be necessary to ensure land maintenance and urged property owners to take responsibility towards the community. The Local Police Sector 1 will continue inspections to ensure compliance with the rules, but the mayor desires greater involvement from property owners in land maintenance.
