A school in the commune of Burila Mare, Mehedinți, was destroyed by hail and rain, and the situation has worsened since the incident in May 2025, when the roof was damaged. Classes have been suspended, and students are forced to commute to a school located 7 kilometers away, which causes dissatisfaction among parents.

They complain about the difficulties encountered, considering that children have to wake up early to reach classes. The mayor of the commune, Jenică Cicic, has requested government funds for repairs, mentioning that the town hall does not have financial resources. He has initiated a project of 8.3 million lei for the renovation of the school, hoping that it will be evaluated soon. The school had been renovated in 2010, but is now in a deplorable state.
