An 11-year-old student was taken to the hospital after a conflict with a classmate at a school in Timiș

An 11-year-old boy from Chevereșu Mare, Timiș County, was taken to hospital after a conflict with a 13-year-old classmate on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, at the school they both attend. Police have opened a criminal case for assault or other violence.

The child’s mother notified the Timișoara Rural Police Station 1 at around 2:30 p.m., after learning that her son had allegedly been physically assaulted at the educational institution at the end of the school day.

According to initial checks, a conflict reportedly broke out between the two minors over a misunderstanding. Police said that both children subsequently allegedly assaulted each other. The 11-year-old was taken to hospital for specialized medical care.

The investigation is continuing to establish the exact circumstances in which the incident occurred and to order the appropriate legal measures. Police will also clarify the sequence of events and any consequences of the assault.
