A student from Bucharest has been indicted after allegedly hitting a teacher who required medical care

A 14-year-old student from Bucharest at the time of the incident has been indicted and remains at liberty for assault or other acts of violence, after allegedly attacking a teacher inside Secondary School No. 5 in Sector 1.

According to the Prosecutor’s Office attached to the Sector 1 District Court, the incident took place on October 16, 2024, at around 3:25 p.m. The student allegedly learned from a classmate that the teacher had spoken ill of her family. She subsequently allegedly entered the room where the teacher was and hit her on the hands and pushed her.

The teacher fell and hit her head and shoulders. As a result of the assault, the victim suffered traumatic injuries that required six to seven days of medical care.

The investigation was completed on October 19, 2026, and the prosecutor in charge ordered the student to be indicted and referred the case to the Bucharest Sector 1 District Court. The court is to examine the charges and the evidence in the case.
