Following the publication of photographs suggesting the existence of a crack in the Paltinu dam, the National Administration Apele Române issued a clarification statement. The institution explained that the observed marks are not associated with infiltrations and that the images do not reflect active structural degradation. Additionally, Apele Române emphasized that interpretations related to torsion are unfounded, as theoretical models do not apply to massive dams.

The institution rejected the characterization of the phenomenon as "fatal" and assured that there are no signs of imminent damage. Continuous monitoring and rigorous technical evaluations confirm the safety of the dam, which operates under stable conditions. Apele Române concluded that the marks in the photographs do not pose a risk to the population or the infrastructure downstream.
