The Romanian Police repatriated a 45-year-old man from Sibiu, included on the list of the most wanted criminals, after he was located in France. He arrived in the country on March 13, 2026, under escort, having served a sentence of 9 years and 7 months for spectacular thefts and forming an organized criminal group. The criminal had hidden for several years in the town of Eragny, France, using a false identity. Romanian investigators managed to track him down in October 2023, and in February 2024 he was arrested following a search. His group operated between 2013 and 2017, targeting the homes of business people and currency exchange offices, causing significant damages, including a theft of 1.2 million euros.
