The Mayor of Sector 4, Daniel Băluță, announced that the works to restore the Unirii Square are continuing intensively, with significant progress in three of the four phases of the project. The builders have already completed two sections of the new square and are preparing for new concrete pours at the beginning of next year. Băluță emphasized that this project is not limited to a simple reconstruction, but aims to address major structural issues in the center of Bucharest, including cracks, corrosion, and severe infiltrations. Since the beginning of the works in July, almost 60% of the old slab has been dismantled, and 200 out of 256 drilled piles have been executed. The Sector 4 City Hall is also planning other major projects in the area, including the reinforcement of the Unirii Passage and the construction of a new pedestrian passage.
