Producer Valentin Badea announced that the price of figs from Buzău remains at 30 lei/kg, the same as last year, despite the rising production costs.
In contrast, imported figs are sold at 50 lei/kg in supermarkets. Badea decided to maintain this price to provide an affordable alternative for customers. Visitors can pick figs directly from the orchard, having the opportunity to taste the fruits without additional costs. The orchard, established six years ago, spans almost one hectare and was created from Tenciuc variety cuttings, which Badea propagated himself.
This year, the harvest is record-breaking, with sufficient rainfall, but the producer is facing losses due to the perishability of figs. The orchard is open daily, offering an authentic agricultural experience for visitors.
