Marian Ceaușescu conducted a rapid cocaine test on Robert Negoiță, and the result was positive. Ceaușescu suggested going to a hospital for a urine test, but Negoiță replied that he had already taken a drug test in traffic. A lawyer for Negoiță argued that "A man who takes a public test means that he does not use drugs, that the mayor is not an idiot."

The test was conducted directly from the halls of the Bucharest Tribunal where the appeal filed by the mayor of Sector 3 regarding judicial control is being analyzed.

Additionally, Marian Ceaușescu applied a similar test to the mayor of sector 4, Daniel Băluță, which came back positive, but the result was later invalidated at the hospital.
