The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, announced that, to date, approximately 600,000 people have accessed the EPIDS platform to request vouchers for paying electricity bills, far below the initial estimates, which indicated 2.1 million eligible consumption points.

Ivan explained that the low number of requests could be determined by the departure of some people abroad, the perception that assistance is not necessary, or difficulties encountered in the registration process.

The minister also mentioned that the implementation of a mechanism is being analyzed whereby vouchers would be applied directly to bills, with a more favorable rate.

The electronic energy voucher, worth 50 lei per month, is intended for low-income individuals. The program will continue at least until March 31, 2026.
