Applications for heating assistance must be submitted by November 20 to benefit from support this month as well

Single persons and families who meet the legal requirements must submit their application and supporting documents by November 20, 2026, in order to receive heating assistance starting in November. The announcement was made by the National Agency for Payments and Social Inspection (ANPIS).

Applications must be submitted to the applicant’s local town hall or, in Bucharest, to the relevant district town hall, either individually or through the homeowners’ association. The application is a statement made under one’s own responsibility, and the forms are provided by local authorities. Applications registered after November 20 will be considered for the payment corresponding to December.

Support is granted under Law No. 226/2021, depending on monthly net income, household composition, the heating system used and the assets owned. Beneficiaries who wish to receive both forms of support must check both heating assistance and the energy supplement on the form.

Heating assistance is granted during the 2026–2027 cold season, between November 1, 2026, and March 31, 2027. For gas, electricity and centralized heating, the amount is deducted from the monthly bill. In the case of solid or petroleum fuels, the money is paid in full in December, for the entire season or for the remaining months.

Vulnerable consumers may additionally apply for the 50-leu monthly energy voucher, valid until December 31, 2026. The application is submitted through the EPIDS app or at the town hall.
