In Sector 6, a bonus system allows homeowners' associations and residents to receive a reduction of 0.54 lei per kilogram of recyclable waste delivered. Sector 5 will implement a similar system starting February 2026, where citizens will pay based on the amount of waste produced, thus having the opportunity to reduce costs through selective collection. On the other hand, in Sector 2, individuals without a waste collection contract will pay significantly higher fees, and the local police will impose fines for non-compliance with selective collection rules. In other cities, such as Constanța and Galați, waste collection fees have increased considerably, reflecting a general trend of rising costs for waste management.
